Gloria Jean (White) Fear's Obituary
Gloria Jean (White) Fear, 84, of Jamesville, NY, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family and close friends.
Born on February 13, 1941, at People’s Hospital in Syracuse, Gloria grew up in Jordan, NY. She graduated from Jordan Central and entered the world with a sense of purpose and an open heart.
Gloria’s first and most treasured role was being a mother, and her two children would forever be her proudest accomplishment. In the 1970s, she served as the church secretary for Lafayette Avenue United Methodist Church before beginning a long and accomplished career in the insurance industry.
In January 1980, Gloria and her husband, Kevin, founded the Fear Insurance Agency. Together, they built a respected family business over more than 25 years, working side by side - just as they lived their lives for their 65 years of marriage.
Gloria’s home was her joyful domain and a gathering place for friends and family. She enjoyed cooking, hosting, and creating traditions, including her well-known Christmas cookie trays. She and Kevin were long-time members of the CNY Corvair Club and later in life they enjoyed regular afternoon walks at Pratts Falls.
Gloria will be remembered for her kindness, steady presence, and devotion to the people she loved. She was someone who listened, encouraged others, and approached life with generosity and warmth.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Carmen White and Wayne White, both of Jordan, NY, and her brothers Richard White, Larry White, and Roger White.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Kevin Fear; her daughter, Colleen Fear Berube and Colleen’s partner Felipe Sandoval; her son, Kevin Fear and his wife Gina (DelGiorno) Fear; and her beloved grandchildren, Caroline, Grace, Charlotte, Emma, and Carlo.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 10 am – 12 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Gloria’s life at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, an organization that brought gentle care and comfort to Gloria in her final days.
