Grace A. (Pizzuto) Fahey's Obituary
Grace A. (Pizzuto) Fahey, 96, passed away suddenly and peacefully on January 15, 2023. She was born in Syracuse on December 21, 1926, daughter of the late Frank and Grazia (Fassi) Pizzuto. She was a graduate of North High School in Syracuse. Grace had a long and successful career with Key Bank and managed the Camillus, NY branch until her retirement. She was a devout Catholic, who relied on her faith after the loss of many family members. Grace had a beautiful voice and enjoyed being part of the Pompeian Players in the 50’s. Grace loved to cook and bake and shared many Italian cookie trays with friends and family over the years.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald A. Fahey of 62 years; her brother, Frank Pizzuto; her youngest daughter, Doreen Killoran (Tom) and her first-born grandchild, Steven DeGroff.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Donna Fahey, Diane (Fred) DeGroff, Denise (Rob) Schoeneck and Darlene (Gene Farrelly) Matticio; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Cortland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing facility for their compassionate care while Grace was a resident.
Family and friends can gather for a service to be held at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum at 1pm on Monday January 23, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Grace Fahey to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of CNY.
