Grace (Pronesti) Piazza's Obituary
Grace (Pronesti) Piazza, 96, of Syracuse, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on May 11, 2019. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Samuel and Rachel (Curinga) Pronesti. Grace was known as a creative seamstress, and was an incredible cook and visitors never left hungry. She was a faith-filled loving mother, wife, sister and aunt. Grace was a beautiful, selfless constant presence in our lives, and we will miss her sweet smile. She was very dedicated to her family and raised her children with great love. Grace had a sense of peacefulness about her which was shown through her kindness and determination to make sure everyone was taken care of.
She is predeceased by her husband, James Angelo Piazza in 2010, and three siblings, Francis, Archie and Rose.
Grace is survived by four children, Susan (Jim) Polito, Karen Dullen, Maryann Piazza (David Lima) and Jim (Mary) Piazza; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Rachael (Jake), Jenna (David), Benjamin (Stephanie) , Jonathan, Johnny, Grace and Jimmy; four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Cameron, Andrew and Connor; sister-in-law, June Piazza, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, May 17, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Grace’s life at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist/Holy Trinity Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 -7:00 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
