Grace (Cali) Rowland's Obituary
Grace (Cali) Rowland, 83, of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late James and Lena (Greco) Cali.
Grace was employed with Verizon, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She was an active member of the Civic Social Club. Grace enjoyed traveling, mostly to countries outside the U.S. She was an avid golfer to the age of 81 and played bridge 2-3 times a week. Most of all, Grace was a loving mother and had numerous friends throughout the years who she always kept in contact with.
She is predeceased by her son, Mark S. Rowland, her brother, Santo Cali, and former husband, Richard S. Rowland.
Grace is survived by her children, Richard J. (Renee) Rowland of Syracuse and Patricia (Terrence, Jr.) Rowland Foran of Manlius; five grandchildren, Justine, Ryan, Lindsee, Kelly and Emily; daughter-in-law, Lynette Rowland; sister-in-law, Gail Cali; nieces, Paula (Kevin) Mirakami, and Lisa (Joe) Murphy, along with many cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Grace’s life at 10:00 am in St. Rose of Lima Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church.
