Haralamvon (Harry) P. Angelakos' Obituary
Haralamvon (Harry) P. Angelakos, 78, of Cicero, passed away peacefully Friday after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Harry was born in Baldwinsville, NY on September 5, 1933, the son of the late Helen and Peter Angelakos. He attended the Manlius Military Academy and upon graduation joined the Air Force. During his military career he was stationed at the Pentagon and served as part of the Honor Guard at President Kennedy's inauguration. He was a very distinguished soldier that was responsible for the indoctrination of staff officers, supervisors, trainers and trainees on the concepts, scope, objectives and administration of the OJT program. He was awarded various commendations and medals before retiring after twenty years of service. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at Goldberg's Furniture store and other endeavors until his retirement in 2010. Harry was a loving husband, father and devoted grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, the former Ella Jones; his daughter, Kimberly; his son, Christopher; two grandsons, Jayden and Tristan; his sister, Marguerite Reynolds and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY on Wednesday from 4 to 6:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 6:30 pm. In memory of Harry, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
