Helen "Molly" (Malytich) Bacon's Obituary
Helen “Molly” (Malytich) Bacon, 97, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 7, 2022 at Francis House following a brief illness. Molly was born in Massachusetts to the late Charles and Anna Malytich and attended North High School. It was there that she met her future husband, Bob; they married during WWII and were together for 72 wonderful years. She worked for 25 years as a claims adjustor for Wausau Insurance Co. During the summer months, she and Bob enjoyed their camp in Old Forge and spent the winter months in Florida. Molly took much pride in her Catholic faith and never missed her daily prayers or Sunday mass.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Robert Bacon in 2017 and her sisters, Nina Rocco and Jean Loretz.
Molly is survived by her children, Karen (Jerry) Dean, Ken Bacon and Roberta (Ernie) Bodo; her grandchildren, Lisa (Jim) Basil, Andrea (Hoang) Cao, Katherine Dean, Rob Bacon and Alisha Bacon; her great-grandchildren, Gabriela Basil, Alex Cao, Jordan Bacon, and Mason Shutter; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Francis House, especially Sister Colette and Amy, for their excellent care of Molly during her stay.
