Helen (Lorini) Passarelli's Obituary
Helen (Lorini) Passarelli, 96, of Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2016. She was born in Dewitt, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Lorini. Helen was a longtime communicant of St. John the Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a former member of Loyal Order of Moose, Syracuse Chapter 105 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #3146 in Mattydale. Helen loved to play the keyboard and had a passion for singing, writing poetry and music and sharing it with others. She would often volunteer her musical performances at nursing homes and rehabilitation centers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent N. Passarelli, Sr. in 1986; her son, Nicholas J. Passarelli in 2002; three brothers and three sisters.
Helen is survived by four children, Vincent N. (MaryEllen) Passarelli, Jr. of Baldwinsville, Robert J. (Nancy) Passarelli of Baldwinsville, Anita G. (Anthony) Smith of Memphis, NY and Thomas D. (Ann) Passarelli of PA; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Passarelli of Liverpool; her sister, Ernestine Pomeroy of Oswego, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Helen’s life at 12:00 pm in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
