Hilda (Ventre) Martino's Obituary
Hilda (Ventre) Martino, 80, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 7th at Syracuse Home. Hilda was born in Syracuse to the late Otto and Susan (Virgilio) Ventre. She graduated from Assumption School and thereafter worked at Merchant's Bank until 1957 when she married Edward Martino. Hilda was a wonderful mother, grandmother and mentor. She will always be remembered for her strength, courage and selfless devotion to her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Martino in 1975 and by her sister, Anne Marie Cerio in 1998. Hilda is survived by her children, Maria Bottega of Cicero, Edward R. (Kelli) Martino of Cicero and Lori (Michael) Furcinito of Baldwinsville; three grandchildren, Nicole Martino of Cicero, Alexander Furcinito of Baldwinsville and E.J. Martino of Cicero; a brother, Robert (Jeannie) Ventre of Liverpool along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
Our family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Syracuse Home for their wonderful and loving care in our mother's final years.
