Howard J. Pearl's Obituary
Howard Pearl, 51, of North Syracuse, passed away April 3, 2017 at Francis House after a difficult struggle with Pancreatic cancer. Howie was a tile setter and longtime member of BAC Local 2 Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He was a 1983 graduate of the final class at North Syracuse High School.
Howard is survived by his parents, Margaret and Dan O’Brien; his sister, Pat (Al) Figueroa and their children, Matthew Figueroa and Jennifer (Joe) Fassano, and their baby Abby. Howie is also survived by his two dogs, Dingus Rattsquatch and Pig, who will miss him, but be well cared for. He was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Marie.
This was Howie’s second battle with cancer, having had kidney cancer in 2011 that he seemingly beat. After his first cancer, Howie found Harleys and spent hours riding with his buds and endlessly tweaking his ride. He also found a ‘74 that he has brought back to life.
Howard is also survived by countless good friends. When he found out he was sick, he knew that he would rather spend his final days on his terms and not captive to the treatment.
The family would like to thank Francis House for their wonderful care, and his caregivers, especially Sally from Francis House and Sue from Hospice. We would also like to thank his friends for their support and comfort. Howie knew he was not alone.
There will be no services as he requested. His last wish was to take one more ride, and he will. Howard wanted any donations to go to Clear Path for Veterans, The Fund Development Department, 1223 Salt Springs Road, Chittenango, NY 13037.
