Hunter Sky Griffin's Obituary
Hunter Sky Griffin, 22, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. He was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of Tully High School. Hunter was proudly serving as a NYS Corrections Officer at Green Haven Correctional Facility. It was his dream to work in corrections or law enforcement; to be of service. He is remembered as a “tough guy” who could not help showing his sweet, caring nature; always having a smile or joke ready and eager to help in any way he could. Hunter spent a lot of his time training at the gym and practicing MMA.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, hanging out with friends, camping with family and friends and caring for animals. He enjoyed helping others to get fit when he worked as a certified personal trainer at the local YMCA in Syracuse.
Hunter is survived by his mother, Jill M. Partridge; father, Travis M. (Melissa) Griffin; sister, Taylor L. Griffin; brother, Brandon A. Griffin; maternal grandparents, Roy and Fredi Partridge; paternal grandparents, Susan Sweeney and James Griffin; aunts, Amanda Partridge and Roylan Nguyen; uncle, Todd Griffin and lots of loving cousins and extended family.
Calling hours will be held from 4 - 6 pm on Monday, March 1, 2021 followed by a funeral service in celebration of Hunter’s life at 6:30 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made online or via mail to the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation, cpof.org / PO Box 348390, Sacramento, CA 95834-8390.
