Ignazio "Joe" Orlando's Obituary
Ignazio “Joe” Orlando, aka “Papa Joe”, 80, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 13, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Canicatti Sicily, son of the late Angelo and Mary (Caltagirone) Orlando. Joe was the owner and operator of Limp Lizard. He was an avid Yankee fan. Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking; although spending time with his family was his passion.
Along with his parents, he is also predeceased by two brothers, Angelo and Charles Orlando.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda (Files) Orlando; five children, Susan (Samuel) Crisalli of Dewitt, Charles (Robin) Orlando of Central Square, Jeannine (Philip) Fazio of Lyncourt, Diane (Orlando) Aloi of Clay and David J. Orlando (Sabrina) of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Nicole, Samuel, Alyssa, Olivia, Isabella, Anna, Brianna, Haley, Philip Jr., Bella and Alivia; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Aubriana and Owen; his sister, Rose (Frank) Larca; sister-in-law, Gloria Orlando; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dog Tippy.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Joe’s life at 9:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
