Immacolata "Tina" (Argiro) Nitopi's Obituary
Immacolata “Tina” (Argiro) Nitopi, 80, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital. Tina was born in Caulonia, Italy on December 7, 1938 to the late John and Maria (Ponteri) Argiro. She immigrated to Syracuse, NY in 1956 with her family. While in Syracuse, she met the love of her life, Santo Nitopi and together they moved to Sydney, Australia in 1968 where they opened their own hardware store and lived happily together. Tina would make frequent trips back to Syracuse to visit her family. She was loved by many.
Besides her parents, Tina is predeceased by her husband, Santo Nitopi and her brother, Joseph Argiro.
Tina is survived by her brother, Louis (Madeline) Argiro, sister Rose Argiro, brother Larry (Kathy) Argiro, and sister-in-law Betty Argiro as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 am on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Tina’s life at 10 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
