Irene (Principato) Albino's Obituary
Irene A. (Principato) Albino, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her daughters and grandson on Monday, January 26, 2015. A native of British Columbia, Canada, she resided in Syracuse most of her life. Irene was employed by Hall & McChesney for many years and enjoyed volunteering in her spare time for the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes and Charity for Children.
Irene’s true passion was cooking and baking for her family and friends which she made her lifetime mission. She was known for her white Italian cookies, eggplant parm and ricotta balls to name a few things. She cherished family gatherings large and small and truly had a spirit of generosity and kindness. Irene was ageless and cared deeply for everyone else, even as the years went on. She was devout in her faith and truly loved the Blessed Mother. Irene was meticulous in her appearance and valued her life tremendously. Her real happiness came being surrounded by family and friends around the kitchen table.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank Albino in 1995; her son-in-law, Albert H. Cutri in 2014; her brothers and sisters, Ann Principato (Anthony) Casbarro, Peter (Sarah D’Agata) Principato, and Frank (Sarah Sindoni) Principato.
Irene is survived by her two daughters, Mary Anne Cutri and Nina Albino, both of Syracuse; her grandson, Albert Cutri; many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Irene’s life at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
