Irene (Maselli) Lotito's Obituary
Irene M. Lotito, 82, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully Monday evening surrounded by her loving family. Born January 30, 1934, the third of four children to the late John and Rose (Pistilli) Maselli, she resided in the greater Syracuse area her entire life. Irene worked at Carrier Corporation after graduating from North High School and then worked tirelessly as a stay at home mom raising six children. Once all were in school, she graduated from the former Powelson Business Institute and went to work for the American Heart Association retiring in June 1997. Irene enjoyed reading, exercising at the Jewish Community Center gym, and spending time with friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Rocco P. Lotito in 2015.
Irene is survived by her children, Mark of Liverpool, Michael (Andrea Rehn) of Long Beach, CA, Cynthia Fortino and Barbara Myers, both of Liverpool, Matthew of Chesapeake, VA, and Christopher of Springfield, VA; her grandchildren, Marisa and John Fortino and Rocco Myers; siblings, Betty Norris of Rochester, John (Anne) Maselli of Syracuse and Rosemarie Close of Liverpool; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Monday, March 14, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Irene’s life at 9:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Minoa. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
