Irene P. Steigerwald's Obituary
Irene P. Steigerwald, 97, of Syracuse , NY, passed away peacefully September 23, 2018. Born on April 26, 1921 in Wiesen, Germany. She was predeceased by her husband Philipp in 1964 and her son Dieter in 2011.
Irene is survived by her son, Armin (Liz); daughter-in-law, Marion; grandson, Dieter Jr. (Amy) a granddaughter, Michelle (Scott) Johnson; and six great grandchildren, Heidi, Dieter III, Mia, Maximus, Owen and Stella. She is also survived by her niece, Dagmar (Guenter) Weis, of Germany, whom she raised as her own daughter; her sister, Lore (Karl) Mill and many other nieces and nephews in Germany.
A Calling hour will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M., immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Irene’s life at 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Irene’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Human Society.
