Irene V. (Dingman) White's Obituary
Irene Virginia White, 85, of Liverpool, passed away Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born in Alexandria Bay, NY, where she was a cheerleader and majorette at Alexandria Bay high school. She attended nursing school at Mercy Hospital in Watertown. Irene and Earl were married on February 4,1948 and enjoyed a honeymoon traveling by ice-boat to one of the thousand-islands in the middle of winter. They settled in the Syracuse area, raising their family, while Earl worked for General Electric and Irene worked for several years at the Sacred Heart Rectory in Cicero, NY. She loved sewing and was a seamstress to many friends and family members. For many years, Earl and Irene ran the Thousand Islands Adult Home in Alexandria Bay. After retirement, Irene’s life was full; she devoted all of her time to Earl, her children, their families, and her love (the choir at Sacred Heart Church). Over the past 2 1/2 years, Irene has enjoyed many hours with new friends at The Hearth at Greenpoint. Irene lost her beloved husband, Earl, of 65 years in April 2013. They are now reunited in heaven and will be the guardian angels to those of us they leave behind.
Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by her son, Thomas White; her daughter, Virginia Mary White; sister, Molly Dingman Plantz and brother, Frank Anthony Dingman.
Irene was the cherished mother of Christina (Thomas) LoTempio, Gary (Cynthia) White, Kathryn (Thomas) Yuckel, Timothy (Rita) White and Jennifer (Robert) Martino; cherished grandmother to Christopher (Anna) and Catherine LoTempio, Jeffrey and Corey White, Denise (Jamie) Pellenz, Cassie (Eric) Pezello, Terry (Allison) Yuckel, Sarah White, Thomasina (Kevin) Green, Erica and Kelsey White, Timothy John Brody White, Robin and Ashley Martino, 15 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Ruth White, brother-in-law, Leroy (Margaret) White and sister-in-law, Louise White.
