Issa F. Essi's Obituary
Issa F. Essi, 89, of Syracuse, passed away June 28, 2023, at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Haifa, Palestine, son of the late Fred and Marta (Durzi) Essi. Issa was the chief financial adjuster in auto collections at Marine Midland Bank for 25 years and later the former owner and operator of C & C Mini Mart on N. Salina Street in Syracuse. Chris enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching SU basketball with his wife Rosalie. He also enjoyed spending time with his cousins, the Essi’s of the Westcott neighborhood. Chris enjoyed their lake house on DeRuyter Reservoir and taking his black lab Basha on walks in the woods.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his former wife, Helen Essi, his daughter, Doris Pettrocci and brother-in-law, Mario Panzironi.
Issa is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosalie C. (Foran) Essi; three children, Leo Corey of Syracuse, Patricia (Ken) Hawk of Clay and James (Laurel) Essi of Liverpool; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle, Louie, Lisa, Corey, Leah, and Amber; several great grandchildren; his sister, Jeannette Panzironi, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Issa’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
