Jack F. Gargaro's Obituary
Jack F. Gargaro, 66, of Lafayette, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Joseph James and Mary E. (Valerino) Gargaro. Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1967 - 1968, and was awarded the title of Sharp Shooter. He retired as a foreman after 30 years of dedicated work for the Syracuse Department of Transportation. After retiring, Jack caught the acting bug; choosing to spend his free time appearing in commercials, music videos, local independent films, and feature films. He also enjoyed SU sports, muscle cars, and music, especially the Beatles.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Doreen Matrone.
Jack is survived by his longtime companion, Judy Mueller; sisters, Janet (Chuck) Borell and Joette (Brian) DeJohn; his brother, Mark Buccina; numerous grandchildren, and was especially close to grandson, Benjamin Horton and his fiancé, Jessica Reese; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service with Rev. Daniel Caruso in celebration of Jack’s life at 11:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to Syracuse Children’s Theatre or the American Heart Association.
