James A. Cavale, Sr.'s Obituary
James A. Cavale, Sr., 89, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Loretto. He was born in Syracuse, son of Samuel and Josephine (Sposato) Cavale. James retired from New Process Gear in 1988 after 28 years of dedicated service, and was a proud member of the UAW Local 624. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, and line dancing.
He was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve (Krystosik) Cavale; his brother, Robert Cavale, and daughter-in-law, Maryann.
James is survived by his children, Samuel J. “Sonny” Cavale of Syracuse, James A. Cavale, Jr. of Syracuse, and Jo Anne (Leon) Zurro of Clay; two grandchildren, James A. Cavale III and Abigail Zurro; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2 pm – 4:30 pm, followed by a funeral service in celebration of James’ life at 4:30 pm in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court St., Syracuse, NY.
