James L. Corona's Obituary
James L. Corona, 79, of East Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born in Syracuse and served with the U.S. Army. James was a 4th Degree Member with the Knights of Columbus, 191 Post. He was a Grand Knight with Post 5398, a Faith Navigator of the 4th Degree, a Color Corp Commander, and a District Deputy. James was also a lifetime member of the Bishop Curley Council, 3717. He retired from General Electric in 1988 after 32 years of service.
James is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cynthia M. (Marcellino) Corona; his sister, Maryann Mulrooney; his aunt and uncle, Mary (Ralph) Marsello; aunts, Carol Blain and Lena Serino, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of James’ life at 9:00 am in St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Dewitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
