My deepest sympathy to the entire Delmonico family. I worked for Jim for many years when he was head of WGY-WRGB-WGFM in Schenectady and always enjoyed our interactions. I know he was and you all should be very proud of the lasting legacy he created by the sheer force of his will with Melodies of Christmas, helping to create a childhood cancer treatment center in this area, which is now named the Melodies Center at Albany Medical Center. One of my most moving experiences was the time when I could tell the story of his young granddaughter and her struggles with cancer before introducing a grown up Melissa who sang on stage during one of the Melodies performances. May he rest in peace.

Dear Melissa,

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. He and my father were not only friends, but co-workers at General Electric-Electronics Park. I remember many funny stories that my Dad used to tell us about "Jimmy" and some of the great times they had together. My Dad's name was Charlie Francoeur and my Mom's name was Margaret. We used to have a home on Oneida Lake, which is now owned by my niece. I remember going to church at St. Francis of Assissi in Bridgeport and seeing your parents, you and your husband and children. I remember when your daughter was so ill and we would always pray for her. You were always so stunning and vivacious, as I am sure you still are today and always the light in your father's eyes! I know it has been many years since I have seen your family; however, I have thought of you often and hope that you all are doing well.

I am so sorry for the loss of Big Jim. I remember all the time spent at the Shotwell Park house when we were kids and how awesome he seemed to me then. Through the years, he always had a big bear hug every time we met and it meant the world to me. I remember how our parents worked on a lot of fundraisers together. One dance in particular brought out his artistic side. I went with my mother the next day to help clean up and there, on the table they all sat at, was a partially melted candle that Mr. D. have molded into a woman's leg just hanginig out of the glass container. I thought it was the neatest thing going.

I am sorry to not be able to join you for the celebration of his life but Andy's Mom has had an awful year and I am taking her to another doctor appointment today.....couldn't get a sub. My mom (90) next month will represent the family. Love to you all.

Dear Jim & Marcia,

I fondly remember your Dad at the Shotwell Park homestead. His great love and devotion for family, friends, and others was an inspiration to all who knew him.
