James DePalma, Sr.'s Obituary
James DePalma, Sr., 91, passed away Friday February 26, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital; a distinguished and honored World War II Veteran who served with the 299th Combat Engineer Battalion – U.S. Army. He was a dedicated and cherished employee of Kraft/Heinz Foods Inc. for 43 years and former President of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, Central New York Chapter, for 8 years.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary (nee Nocchiero) DePalma; his children, James DePalma, Jr. and Carol (Timothy) Pike; his grandchildren, Justin (Kara Scarboro) Pike, Michael Pike and Caroline (Kyle) Harmer; his sister, Leila Pfohl; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of James’ life at 10:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
