James W. "Jim" Ferguson's Obituary
On Saturday, May 15, 2021, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, James W. Ferguson was reunited with the love of his life, Anne (Aloi). Jim was born in 1931 in Watertown, NY. He was a U.S. Marine and served proudly in the Korean War. Jim continued to serve his country working for General Electric where he led teams that worked on American radar and sonar devices in Turkey. Jim received countless merits and awards for both his time in the military and at GE. Jim was married to Anne for 65 years and they spent their entire married lives as residents of North Syracuse and communicants of St. Rose of Lima Church. They owned Ferguson’s Grocery in Eastwood for many years. Jim was an avid Syracuse University sports fan and loved watching football and basketball games with his family. He was known for his never-ending sense of humor and kind heart. He will surely be remembered for his ability to talk to anyone at any time about anything.
Jim was predeceased by both of his parents, as well as his wife Anne and brother Lawrence. James is survived by his sons, James W. (Georgian) of North Syracuse and Michael (Jennifer) of Cicero; three grandsons, Ryan (Hollie), Michael, and Nicholas, as well as three great-grandchildren, a brother Francis, sister, Marion Callahan and several nieces, nephews.
Private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Donations in Jim’s honor can be made to St. Rose of Lima Church.
