James C. Fida's Obituary
James C. “Jamie” Fida, 67, of Cicero, passed away June 13, 2022, at the VA Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse and was a proud U.S. Army veteran. James was the co-owner and operator of Don Fida Landscaping for many years.
Jamie’s favorite time of the year was summer. Growing up he would spend his time fishing and water skiing at the family’s camp in Inlet. Jamie was a loving son to his father and to his sister, who had a tight bond that never could be broken. He loved his nieces and nephews more than they could ever know.
Jamie was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army. While being stationed in Germany he would enjoy his love of snow skiing. Thank you to the Syracuse VA and their wonderful staff of doctors, nurses, and social workers that helped in taking care of him and helping us through this difficult time.
Thank you, Pastor Mike, for being there for his father, also to his wife Kristina who works at the VA. She took time to sit with his sister during a very difficult time.
He was predeceased by his mother, Jilda E. (Fusco) Fida.
James is survived by his father, Donald D. Fida; his sister, Donna (Walter) Wisniewski; nieces and nephews, Christine Fisher, Daniel Wisniewski, Wally (Jessica) Wisniewski, Christopher (Emily) Wisniewski, and Alysia (Robert Edwards) Wisniewski; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of James’ life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private entombment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA Medical Center.
