James A. Gouchie's Obituary
James A. Gouchie, 59, of Phoenix, NY, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in Rome, NY, and served with the U.S. Navy. Jim was a devout Catholic who was honest, caring, and a hardworking man who would always put everyone first before himself. He enjoyed vacationing in Cape Cod, deep sea fishing and sitting by the ocean, long trips on his motorcycle, cooking and baking for family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, James E. Gouchie and mother, Theresa (Maida) Gouchie.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Nancy C. (Collier) Gouchie; his sister, Rosemarie (Gary) Owens; his brother, John (Sybil) Gouchie; two step-children, Corrine (Phil) Mitsiell and Heather Duff; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Jim’s life at 10:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212.
