James A. Piazza's Obituary
James Angelo Piazza, 92, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Syracuse and was a WWII Navy Veteran as a Motor Machinist's Mate 3rd Class SV6. Jim was employed with General Motors for 39 years. He was ahead of his time in understanding nutrition and healthy living. He was predeceased by his brothers, Carmen, Joseph, Frank and John Piazza, also his sisters, Frances O'Donnell and Anna Brigandi. Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace (Pronesti) Piazza; his 4 children, Susan (Jim) Polito, of Syracuse, Karen (John) Dullen of Chittenango, Maryann Piazza and Jim (Mary) Piazza of Syracuse; 8 grandchildren, Lauren, Rachael, Jenna, Benjamin, Jonathan, Johnny, Grace and Jimmy; a brother, Carl (June) Piazza; a sister, Katherine Messina and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and Noon in St. John The Baptist Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Friends and family may call the funeral home on Friday from 4pm to 7pm.
