James N. "Chubby" Valentino's Obituary
James N. “Chubby” Valentino, 84, of East Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 17, 2020. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late James and Thelma (Brooks) Valentino. James was a U.S. Army veteran and worked over 40 years at P&C Food Markets. After retirement, he worked at Shop City Liquors and enjoyed wintering at The Americana in Rockledge, Florida. Jim’s greatest joys were a cup of coffee and donut and a good card game. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his daughter Karen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy J. (Hannon) Valentino; a son, James N. (Kathy) Valentino III; two daughters, Maureen (Jorge) Landa and Robin (Robert) Neineier; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Jessica, Edward, Katherine, Christine, Hannarose, Maxwell and Lucy, and a great-granddaughter, Leona.
A Private Funeral Service in celebration of Jim’s life will be held at noon on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.)
