Janette Lynn Springer's Obituary
Janette Lynn Springer, of Cicero NY, went to sleep with the angels on November 19, 2018 at the age of 64. Janette was born July 28, 1954 in Syracuse, NY. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Weekes (Howland) and James Weekes (both deceased). Janette was raised in North Syracuse and was a graduate of Cicero North Syracuse. Shortly after graduating, Janette met her husband Alan R. Springer. Their family expanded welcoming son Nate Springer and then son Kristopher Springer. Janette was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed watching her sons grow up and develop into the loving fathers they are now – all a testament of her love for them. Janette became widowed in 2002 – losing her husband Alan.
Destined to love again, she met Todd Dunkinson. Sharing new adventures, they became life partners. In 2016, she lost Todd. Janette enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, motorcycle rides, penny slot machines, reading, a good buffet, Coco Loco yogurt and cuddling with her not so scary cat Monster. Janette was a confidant and fierce shopper – no JCPenney’s or Home Shopping Network were safe from her clearance rack shenanigan’s. She loved dancing and enjoying life. She was full of energy and joy. Janette was a snow bird fleeing to Seminole, Florida yearly during the cold months of Syracuse. She was loved by a host of friends and neighbors at the coast side community.
Those that will pass on her legacy and hold many cherished memories are her son Alan “Nate” Springer and wife Conni Springer of Suwanee, Georgia; her son Kristopher Springer and wife Eneida Springer of Liverpool, New York; Grandchildren Brielle Springer, Jaiden Springer, Xavier Springer, Tiersa Springer, Julian Springer and Gabriel Springer; Sister Victoria Mawhinney (Pete Mawhinney); Sister Bonnie Musumeci (Mike Musumeci); Brother James Weekes ; Sister Kathy Rogala (predeceased); Sister Michelle Chauvaux. Janette will be missed by her loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Janette was not the type of person to leave things unkept or disorganized. In knowing that, she spoke with family members and friends to make sure all knew what her final wishes were. Those wishes have been honored.
Private services were held for immediate family members in Seminole, Florida. Janette has been laid to rest with her husband Alan and life partner Todd but will live in the hearts of those of knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ramada Inn Carrier Circle on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
