Jean Therese Gorman's Obituary
Jean Therese Gorman, 93, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, of age-related causes. She was born July 3rd, 1931, in Utica, NY to Frank and Brigid (Kerrigan) Gorman, both of County Mayo, Ireland.
Jean attended St. Francis DeSales High School in Utica, where she was a cheerleader, and later at age 58 received a BA in Psychology from Syracuse University. She lived in Boston for a decade, eventually returning to Syracuse where she worked for many years running the lab in the office of her brother, Dr.John Gorman.
Jean had many outdoor interests, ranging from cross-country skiing to hiking, and was a member of many hiking/outing groups. She was an avid philatelist, collecting stamps from around the world. She will be remembered for her ready smile and good humor.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, brother Richard, brother Robert, and her twin brother John Francis. She is survived by her nephews; Kevin (Marci) Gorman, Paul Gorman, Jacob Gorman; her niece Sheila (Christopher) Larkin; great nephews; Conor Larkin, John Larkin, Jarrett Gorman, and great nieces; Lily Larkin, Brigid Larkin, and Amber (Gorman) Oberliesen.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt.
