Gloria and family,

Ray and I are very sad to hear Jeanne passed away. We loved her and enjoyed our visits with her at The Elderwood....it was a joy to see her eyes light up like a Macy's Day balloon when we walked into her room.

We have so many great memories of Jeanne and will always remember the fun, family dinner gatherings she hosted, the family picnics, and NYC trips where she loved shopping on Delancey Street, eating pizza at John's on Bleecker Street, and, of course, our Italian cookie nosh at Rocco's, also on Bleecker. Jeanne sure loved animals and she loved it when we brought Rosa to her house for a visit, and Rosa loved her too.

Jeanne will always have a special place in our hearts and we will really miss her.

I’ll always remember Aunt Jeanne’s loving kindness.

When we were young Aunt Jeanne would take care of us and we loved it.

My sisters and I would get so excited when my Mom’s cousin Jeanne and Aunt Josephine visited California.

Aunt Jeanne showered us with her love. There are so many happy memories being together, playing games, going site seeing and especially having meals together.

Aunt Jeanne’s cooking was exceptional to say the least. Whether a meatball sandwich snack or a multi-course feast, I for one, could never get enough.

In California, Aunt Jeanne would bake us desserts and she knew our favorites. I felt so loved and special when she would make cherry pies for me.

I treasure the times spent with Aunt Jeanne, to have known her goodness and her love.

Aunt Jeanne gave joy and happiness to us and I’ll forever remember her with deep love and affection.

MY TRIBUTE TO COUSIN JEAN

We meet many people as we go through life, but only a few stand out as exceptional
and rare.

Jean was such a person.

She had many beautiful qualities that made her so enjoyable to be around.

When I think of Jean, the word “gentleness” immediately comes to mind.

This, I believe, was her most outstanding trait.

In a world that rarely exhibits gentleness, Jean’s life and way with people overflowed
with gentleness.

We saw it in her tender eyes.

We heard it in her soft voice

We felt in her understanding smile.

We experienced it in the way she heard us with her heart as well as her ears.

In these ways, Jean took after the gentlest Person who ever lived.

When that Person encountered the weak and oppressed, He took time to comfort and
encourage them rather than ignore their pain.

In these same ways, Jean reflected the love and compassion of Jesus with clarity and
consistency.

She loved with an open heart.

Though imperfect as we all are, she knew how to forgive and forget.

Jean identified with others.

She listened with great interest as we spoke.

She celebrated our successes and gladly shared our burdens.

I loved Jean dearly, and will miss her greatly.

I will always be grateful for the example she gave me of how to live a life free of the
many things that can rob us of joy and peace.

Thank you, dear cousin Jean and dear friend, for helping me see Jesus in living color.

To Cousin Gloria Mastriano and the entire Contrastano family,

Wife Maureen and I will always cherish the times we spent with Cousin Jeanne. Especially family reunion picnics in the summer times. She was always cordial and giving of herself in many ways. She was full of love and full of life and that is how we will always remember her. Today we pray for her safe keeping and her ascension into heaven.

God bless you cousin Jeanne, we will miss you.
