Jeanne M. (Giorgi) Ciravolo's Obituary
Jeanne M. (Giorgi) Ciravolo, 79, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Crouse Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Gene and Madalene (English) Giorgi, Jeanne obtained a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College and her master’s degree in education from Syracuse University. Jeanne went on to work for Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield for over 20 years, retiring as a marketing manager.
In retirement, she worked as a substitute teacher for 10 years in the Liverpool School District. Jeanne was a devout Catholic and active parishioner of Pope John XXIII Church in Liverpool for over 46 years, where she was also a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the New York Yankees and Syracuse University Athletics. Jeanne loved to cook, and most of all, enjoyed being with her family, especially her 4 beloved grandchildren.
Jeanne is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Joseph R. Ciravolo; her 3 children, Andrea Ciravolo, Christine (Richard) Marsh, and Joseph (Marci) Ciravolo, Jr.; 4 grandchildren, Adam and Alexa Marsh, and Jackson and Madelyn Ciravolo; a sister, Barbara (Frank) Groth; an aunt, Louise Giorgi; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeanne’s family would like to thank Dr. Doreen B. Arinaitwe and the staff at Crouse Hospital for their exceptional care during Jeanne’s final days.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. in Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Rd. Liverpool. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
