Jennie Rosalie Emmi's Obituary
Jennie Rosalie (Messina) Emmi, 96, passed away July 22, 2023. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Carmella (Grosso) Messina. A life resident of Syracuse and a communicant of St. Peter’s Church, she retired from employment in the finer dining establishments in Syracuse and Baldwinsville. She and her late husband, Alfred, owned a coffee shop on South Salina Street back in the 1950’s named Patti & Judy’s after their daughters. While her husband was alive, he planted two large gardens from which she canned many vegetables and made many delicious meals. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, and taking care of three Irish Setter dogs.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred in 1997, her daughter Patricia in 2012, and 12 brothers and sisters.
Jennie is survived by her daughter, Judi (Ed) of Camillus.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Francis House for the care they have given her this past week. They would also like to thank and recognize the staff at Brookdale Summerfield Senior Living, where she lived for the last year and a half, for the care she was given there.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in the THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley) followed by entombment in St. Mary’s Cemetery Dewitt, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jennie’s memory to the CNY SPCA OFFICE 5878 E Molloy Rd, Syracuse, NY 13211.
