Jennie Pietra's Obituary
Jennie (Uricchio) Pietra, 99, of Syracuse, passed away from natural causes on Wednesday at Loretto Cunningham Nursing Home. She was born in Tricarico, Italy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta Uricchio. Jennie worked in ladies fashion at Helmer's Department Store, Flah's and Kramer's. She was a former member of St. Theresa Society and the Mother's Club at Our Lady of Pompei Church where she also worked in the cafeteria for many years. Jennie loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Charles Pietra; daughter, Loretta Antonacci; brother, Paul Uricchio and sister, Rose Lucarelli. Jennie is survived by her son, Charles A. Pietra, daughter-in-law, Clare; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister, Angela Bovalino along with three nieces and nephews.
A funeral service in celebration of Jennie's life will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
