Jennie D. Ponto's Obituary
Jennie D. Ponto, 95, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Syracuse and was employed with Learbury and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. She also was a member of OLP Choir for many years. Jennie loved traveling with her family and friends and was a warm and caring person who was devoted to her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Catherine Ponto and her 5 brothers, Anthony, Leo, Michael, Matthew and John Ponto. Jennie is survived by her brother, Joseph A. Ponto of Florida; sisters, Nancy D. Ponto and Mary Lambert, both of Syracuse as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. There will be a calling hour held on Thursday from 7:45 to 8:45 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Golisano Children's Hospital, 750 East Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210.
