Jennie (Polimino) Raterman's Obituary
Jennie (Polimino) Raterman, 76, of Kirkville, was taken home to be with her Lord peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Carmella (Malara) and Joseph Polimino. Jennie was an avid gardener and loved animals. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Jennie was a true friend to all she knew. She was a selfless woman of Christ, a loving wife and dedicated mother who will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her brother, Dominick "Nick" Polimino. Jennie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, George Raterman; her four children, Lori J. (Steve) Johnson of Batavia, NY; Max T. (Diane) Raterman of Whitney Point, NY; Matthew J. (Kimberly) Raterman of Minoa and Jennifer P. Raterman of East Syracuse; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five siblings, Josephine (Morris) Eskenazi, Santo (Sandy) Polimino, Palma Scicchitano, Mary (Joseph) Gorgoni and Patsy (Carol) Polimino, her sister-in-law, Aina Ratermanis, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service in celebration of Jennie's life will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 am in Community Wesleyan Church, Kirkville. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
