Jennifer Rose (Steward) Dahlin-Avella's Obituary
Jennifer Rose (Steward) Dahlin-Avella, 53, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse and graduated from Fowler High School. Jennifer worked at Syracuse University for over 30 years, the last 10 years as a Culinary Supervisor. She was a proud member of the Lyncourt LeMoyne Little League Board and served as the concessions manager for 6 years. Jennifer loved the Yankees and Philadelphia Eagles but was certainly not a fan of the Cowboys. She enjoyed singing, gardening and baking cookies with her children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her father, Jon Steward; her grandparents, Salvatore and Margaret DiMaria, Charles Jackson and Rose Steward; and her dogs, Bear, Lexi, Ginger and Lily.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 22 years, Carmine Avella; five children, Salvatore (Alexia) Dahlin, Christopher (Karissa) Dahlin, Krystina Avella (Roger Robinson), Mario Avella and Michael (Kristen) Avella; her mother, Patricia (DiMaria) Steward-Christodoulou and step-father, Chris Christodoulou; her former spouse, Michael Dahlin; grandchildren: Cruz, Mariana, Amara, Victoria, Korey, Joey, Kylee and Eli; siblings: James Steward, Joseph Steward, Maggie (Matthew) Rossen, Kate (Travis) Lawson, Jon Steward, Jennie, Michael, Anthony and Chris (Michaela) Christodoulou; nieces and nephews: James, Jordan, Richie, Noah, Alexis, Aubrey, Xander Lawson and Rosalin Steward; several cousins and her dogs, Giuseppe and Luigi.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Jennifer’s life will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at St. Lucy’s Church, 432 Gifford St., Syracuse, NY, followed by entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
