Jerome F. Laguzza's Obituary
Jerome F. Laguzza, 95, of Kirkville, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bronx, NY, son of the late Antoinette (Loguidice) and Charles Laguzza.
Jerome served with the U.S. Coast Guard in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was a Former Commander at American Legion Post 1277. Jerome retired from Allied Chemical after 40 years of dedicated service. He coached Le Moyne Little League for many years, and was a Cub Scout leader with Hiawatha Counsel.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Lena (Vecchio) Laguzza in 1989.
Jerome is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jeanne (MacCombie) Laguzza; his children, Dr. Ross (Rosemary) Laguzza, Antoinette (Jeffrey) Smith, and Salvatore “Sam” Laguzza (Kathleen Marra); six grandchildren, Kristen (Christopher) Tizzano, Kara O’Connor, Stephanie (Ian) Bastek, Kathleen O’Connor, Jeffrey (Dorothy) Laguzza, and Melissa Laguzza (Brian Goodwin); step-children, Carl (Denise) MacCombie, Christine MacCombie (William) Rhodes), Michael (Eileen) MacCombie, Stacie MacCombie, and Sherri MacCombie (John Dellatorre); step-grandchildren, Andrew Clements (Tara Bouthillier), Taylor VanCamp, Tristan Rhodes, Michael MacCombie, Brandon and Britni MacCombie; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Jerome’s life at 9:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
