Joan J. (Carucci) Jacobs' Obituary
Joan J. (Carucci) Jacobs, 92, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in Utica, NY, where she met the love of her life, Joseph Jacobs. They were married 68 years until Joe’s passing in 2020. Together, Joe and Joan had 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Joan dedicated her life to her family as a stay-at-home mom. Joan enjoyed cooking for her family, shopping with her daughters and granddaughters, going out to dinner with friends, and having her family over on Sundays for pasta dinner.
She is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Concetta Carucci, her grandson, Kevin Haynes, and three sisters, Mary, Ann, and Rita.
Joan is survived by her five children, Betty Jacobs, Carol Haynes (Guy Bercier), Patty (Gene) Benedetti, JoAnn (Jeff) Nesci, and Richard (Danielle) Jacobs; her grandchildren, Crystal Essig, Brandon Haynes, Mario and Antonio Benedetti, Jacob and Joelle Nesci, Jozef, Jaeden, and Jaxon Jacobs; her one great-granddaughter, Avianna Haynes; along with many nieces, nephews, and her best friend, Rita Nappa.
Joan’s family extends a special and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Iroquois Nursing Home, who provided excellent and loving care for Joan for the past few years.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service in celebration of Joan’s life at 1:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse.
