Joan S. (Dasno) Cumoletti's Obituary
Joan S. (Dasno) Cumoletti passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Joan was born June 23, 1937, in Watertown, NY, daughter of Harold R. and Ethel (Smith) Dasno. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1955. On July 27,1957 she married Frederick A. Cumoletti at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Watertown with Rev. Benoit Dostie officiating.
Joan was employed as the cafeteria lunch lady at Bear Road Elementary School, retiring from North Syracuse School District in 1999 after 23 years of service. She was a fiercely devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Joan instilled strong values and lasting traditions on her family through weekend visits to Watertown with the Dasno and Cumoletti clans. She enjoyed camping trips to Lake Ontario and the 1000 Islands, family gatherings for over 50 years at her home in Cicero, NY, boating weekends at Keewaydin State Park, summers at her cottage on Panther Lake in Camden, NY, and vacations in New Smyrna, FL. If there was a dance recital, theatrical play, sporting event or graduation anywhere in or out of New York State for one of her grandchildren, Joan was there. Until her illness, Joan loved to exercise regularly with the Silver Sneakers and to ice skate twice each week at the senior skate at Cicero Twin Rinks. Joan was always the first on and last off the dance floor at every family celebration. Joan was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Frederick Cumoletti in 2020; her son, Craig Cumoletti in 2022; son-in-law, Sean Gleason in 2022; her brothers-in-law, Patrick Ingoldsby, Vincent Cumoletti, and Ralph Marzano.
She is survived by her son, Steven Cumoletti and daughter-in-law, Kristen Cumoletti of Saratoga Springs; daughter, Paula Gleason of Liverpool; son, David Cumoletti of Cicero; daughter-in-law, Sue Cumoletti of Cicero; grandchildren, Henry (Lindsey) Cumoletti, Kara Cumoletti, Mattea Cumoletti, Ross Cumoletti (fiancée Brooke Kemp), Marina Cumoletti, Frankie (Christopher) Gleason-Hannan, Karlee Cumoletti, Gracie Gleason, and Torie Gleason; great-grandchildren, Easton, Forest and Beatrix Cumoletti; her sisters, Eleanor Ingoldsby (New Smyrna, FL), Linda (Jim) VanDusen (New Smyrna, FL), her brother, Danny (Carolyn) Dasno (Evans Mills); a foster brother, James Kostyk (Rochester); sisters-in-law, June Marzano (Watertown) and Joan G.
