Joan F. Fanto's Obituary
Joan F. (Russi) Fanto, 83, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rochester, she lived in Syracuse most of her life. Joan was a communicant of St. James Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Larry D. "Bobby" Fanto, Jr. on July 14, 2011; her granddaughter, Natalie and her sister, Gloria McElroy.
Joan is survived by her 2 sons, Larry M. (Maria) Fanto of Rome, NY and Rick D. (Joanne) Fanto of Syracuse; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Alana, Ricky and Bobby Fanto; a sister, Diane Clark of Syracuse along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 8:00 A.M. in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd., (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY and 9:00 am in St. James Church. Burial will follow in the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208.
