Joan F. (Broderick) Fields, 89, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at The Bishop Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Syracuse to the late John and Genevieve (Lee) Broderick and worked over 40 years for NY T Read Obituary
I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Fields' passing. She was truly one of a kind! I loved her feistiness and her humor. When I worked at Nichols Supermarket, Mrs. Fields would always run up to me and give me big bear hug. I left Nichols in 2014 and she was one of the customers I missed most.

My sincerest condolences to Joan's family. Joan and I became great friends through Immaculate Heart of Mary parish. I could tell how happy she was by the amount of good-natured complaining she did. We had great talks before and after Mass, and at her residences after she fell ill. She made the best pickles in Central New York. She even sent me a jar to Florida while I was living there temporarily. I live in Fiji now and so am unable to be with her family, but I assure them of my prayer and support.

Allan, I am so sorry to hear about your mom😥😥We had a lot of laughs for sure! She always called me Kelly and I remember after 2 or 3 years I finally told her my name is Colleen.... she said no, you will always be Kelly to me lol.And from then on I called her Helen!I always will remember her coming for gas and when I would pull her car up to the pumps she had AM radio on in the car! One of my favorite memories was when I delivered food to her and she said come in the garage and have a beer with me !! I was working and having kind of a bad day so I accepted!! Only problem I forgot that she drank Genesee...yuck lol.. She will be missed as I know she had many friends .Again I send my condolences to you and your family 😢😢

We were so sorry to hear that your dear Mother Joan had passed away. We truly loved her and will miss her. We had so many good times with her and we loved her sense of humor. She was such a unique personality, everyone loved her.

Patty will miss her trips to the casino's with Joan, and we'll all miss St. Patrick's Day and Christmas get togethers and summer picnics in her backyard.
