Joan P. Omolino's Obituary
Joan P. Omolino, 87, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2019. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late John and Lena (Scarsone) Omolino. Joan retired after 36 years with Verizon (N.Y. Telephone Co.). She was past president of Telephone Pioneers of America Retirees and ran the Pioneer Store.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Norma (Anthony) Tangredi, AnnMarie Omolino and Baby Lucy.
Joan is survived by her brother, John (Diane) Omolino; nieces and nephews, Joe (Mary), Dawn (Gary), Anthony (MaryEllen), Barbara (Ed), James, Melissa (Ray), Lynn (Al), and Mark (Chris); great-nieces and nephews, Joan (John), Stephanie (Bill), MaryBeth (Chris), Joshua (Mary), Eric, Marisa (Joshua), Nicholas, Sarah, Michael, Matthew, Jennifer, Jason, Mitchell and Timothy; great-great-nieces and nephews, Joshua, Jacob, Taylor, Abigal, Bella and Finn, also many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, July 22, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Joan’s life at 10:00 am in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Food Pantry, Hospice of CNY or Golisano Pediatric Oncology.
