JoAnne (Paris) Buffa's Obituary
JoAnne (Paris) Buffa, 67, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of John and Virginia (Carfagno) Paris. JoAnne was the owner and operator of JoAnne's Beauty Shop in Syracuse for over 30 years. She loved knitting and trips to the casino with her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as they were the most important part of her life. JoAnne is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Cosmo S. Buffa; 3 children, Michelle A. Kellaway of Rochester, Dawn M. (Scott) Van Horn of Camillus and Joseph (Jaimie) Buffa of Solvay; 5 grandchildren, Abigail and Sophia Van Horn, Taylor Buffa, Francesca and Santino Van Horn; a sister, Constance (Carmen) D'Eredita of Solvay along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 5 to 8 pm. Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research or the American Cancer Society.
