Joanne L. (Daino) Butler's Obituary
Joanne L. (Daino) Butler, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse to the late Louis Daino and Josephine (Sgroi) Benson and was a graduate of North High School. Joanne worked for many years for General Electric and Fiscal Advisors and Marketing in Syracuse and volunteered her time at the Francis House and Hospice. She loved cooking, baking, trips to the beach, and working around her yard at home. Joanne cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially when it involved dinner and a shopping trip.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Marlene Hollister and her best friend, Barb Garlock.
Joanne is survived by her children, Marc (Kathy) Butler and Kristin (John) Enright; her grandchildren, Eli and Hank Butler and Andrew, Cooper, and Paige Enright; her brothers, Michael and Mark Benson; her feline companion, May; her close friends, “The Bunco Girls”, Pat Chase, and her card friends; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral mass in celebration of Joanne’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
