Joanne M. Scott's Obituary
Joanne (Kaufman) Scott, 72, of Syracuse, passed away December 26, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Thomas and Edith (Tangredi) Kaufman. Joanne graduated from St. Anthony’s High School and retired after 35 years in Accounts Receivables with United Way of CNY. She enjoyed golf, reading and playing cards. Joanne loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her husband, Stewart Scott in 2019 and her daughter, Kathleen Scott in 1980.
Joanne is survived by her son, Timothy Scott, and daughter, Christine (Robert) Hamilton; two grandchildren, Gavin and Rowan Hamilton; siblings, Roseann Schoonmaker of Auburn, Joseph (Deborah) Kaufman of Brewerton, Theresa (Jeff) Biasuzzi of Wallingford, VT, Thomas (Anne) Kaufman of Fayetteville, and Steven Kaufman of Syracuse; sister-in-law, Susan Cross of Hillsboro, OR, brother-in-law, Fred (Robin) Scott of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and her cat, Sasha.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 10 am – 12 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Joanne’s life at noon in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
