Jocelyne "Jackie" DeAngelo's Obituary
Jocelyne "Jackie" (Agaliotis) DeAngelo, 80, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 26, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Jackie was born on December 12, 1945 in the small town of Bar-le-Duc in northeast France to the late Nick and Yvonne (Marchal) Agaliotis. She immigrated to the United States with her mother at just 5 months old with her father, Nick, not far behind.
Jackie graduated from Liverpool High School in 1963 and was immediately hired by Liverpool High School right after graduation due to her exceptional typing and office talents. She graduated beauty school in 1967 with 1000 hours of training, all while working at General Electric in Liverpool, NY.
On September 6, 1969 Jackie married Anthony DeAngelo and they made their home in North Syracuse where they raised their three children and built a life centered around family.
Jackie had a naturally creative artistic talent with everything she did. She worked alongside her husband for years, building a small-time hobby into a full-time, successful craft business: JD Crafts. They created handcrafted personalized wooden crafts, ornaments, family plaques, calendars, and much more and sold these crafts at festivals and craft shows throughout CNY. Anthony did all the bulky cutting and sanding so that Jackie could bring each piece to life with her unique hand-painted Old English script lettering and beautiful decorating.
Above all else, Jackie loved her family with all her heart and that love showed in everything she did. She loved cooking, baking, hosting family get-togethers and always made sure to take photos of her family at all costs.
Jackie will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother, spouse, grandmother, and friend and she will be forever missed.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Anthony DeAngelo.
Jackie is survived by her three children, Kelly Converse of Brewerton, NY, Brian DeAngelo of North Syracuse, NY, and Steven DeAngelo of Freeport, NY; his five grandchildren, Steven and Kaitlin Converse, Isabella, Alyssa, and Gabriella DeAngelo; along with many family and friends.
Calling hours will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Jackie’s life at 11:00 A.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
