John Aragona Jr.'s Obituary
John Aragona, Jr., 68, of Clay, passed away on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and served with the US Navy. John was employed with General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1993 and was a member of the UAW 624. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 787 and was a Deputy Sheriff with Onondaga County for many years. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Close) Aragona in 1993, son, Louis Aragona and brother, Louis Aragona. John is survived by 3 sons, John (Tammy) Aragona of West Monroe, Rick (Melanie) Aragona of Elizaville, NY and Michael Aragona of Clay; his daughter, Tina M. Turtura of Mexico, NY; 6 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 3 sisters, Wanda Oakleaf of Florida, Carmella Farsaci of North Carolina and Annie Putman of Syracuse; 2 brothers, Joe Aragona of Oklahoma and Herbie Aragona of Florida. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
