John "Jack" Berardi's Obituary
John “Jack” Berardi, 98, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home, March 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. A beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. John lived a long life marked by devotion, sense of humor, and an unwavering love for the people around him.
John was born in Syracuse, son of the late John Berardi and Rose Malley Vinciquerra, and stepfather, Peter Vinciquerra. He proudly enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and was honored to serve aboard the LST-599, where his service earned him several distinguished medals. He was born on October 3, 1927, and was raised on Syracuse’s Northside. He attended North High School and was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area. He carried a deep pride for his country throughout his life and was a life member of American Legion Post 188 in Liverpool. Prior to his death, John was invited to participate in Honor Flight Mission 2 to Washington D.C. for veterans.
He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. John loved spending time with his family, cooking, and gardening; where he enjoyed sharing his harvest with friends and neighbors. He was a passionate New York Yankees fan and a food connoisseur.
After returning home from war, John built a long and respected career in the automotive industry, working in the sales department as truck and fleet manager, where he later met his wife. He married Sandra Adle on July 6, 1974 in Oneida, NY and went on to retire in 1988.
He is predeceased by his son, John Berardi and sister, Mary (Bill) May.
John is survived by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Sandy; his son, Scott (Jomarie) Berardi; three daughters, Stacy Berardi, Carol (Donald) Paninski, and Lisa (Brian) Bongo; his sister, Lucille (Lynn) Meyers of Englewood, FL, and several cherished grandchildren including Jaina, Maria, and Jacen. John is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever remember his endless stories, quick wit, generous heart, and unmistakable presence.

Visitation will take place at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME ON Friday, April 3, 2026, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY. A funeral service in celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10:30 am at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by interment with Military Honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
