John E. Brown's Obituary
John E. Brown, 73, of Sandy Creek, NY passed away on Wednesday at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Lackawanna, NY, the son of the late John and Elinor (Ryan) Brown. John was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in 1957. He retired from Niagara Mohawk's transportation department after 36 years of service. John was an avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and Syracuse University Basketball. After his retirement, John moved to Sandy Pond where he enjoyed spending time with his close friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his sister, Elinor Costello of Concord, CA. John is survived by his children, Kevin M. (Melissa) Brown of Liverpool; Kelley A. Brown of Alexandria, Virginia and Timothy J. Brown of New York City; grandchildren, Ethan and Nicholas Brown along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service in celebration of John's life will be held by Rev. Daniel O'Hara on Saturday at 11:30 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
