John S. Carocci's Obituary
John S. Carocci, 83, of Liverpool, NY, passed away on December 15, 2019. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from Solvay High School and attended Pratt Institution. He served in U.S. Air Force in Okinawa, Japan and Texas. John worked at Bristol Laboratories and retired from Agway. Despite suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years John tended a large vegetable garden each year. He also played guitar, learned to fence and was a very good artist, winning several awards. John had a wonderful sense of humor and was always open to jokes and pranks.
John was predeceased by his parents, C. Sylvester and Georgianna (Brown) Carocci; his brother, Richard Carocci, Sr. and in-laws, Patrick and Rosina Amato.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Amato) Carocci; two sons, John A. Carocci and David (Concetta) Carocci; two grandchildren, Caterina and GianLuca; his sister, Sharon (Frank) Rachetta; sister-in-law, Joan Carocci; brother-in-law, Frank (Katejean) Amato; sister-in-law, Joanne Amato; several nieces and nephews.
The Carocci family would like to thank the staff at The Cottages in Cicero for their wonderful care of John for the last 3 ½ years.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 4 – 6:30 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of John’s life at 6:30 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
